Stay in Menifee. Play the parks. Then drive 20 minutes to wineries, Old Town, and Pechanga.

Menifee is the Inland Empire stay-and-play base for Temecula Valley Wine Country. Sleep in a family-oriented Riverside County city, then reach Historic Old Town Temecula, the Temecula Valley AVA wineries, and Pechanga Resort Casino in about 20–30 minutes down the I-15. That three-stop cluster is a real 3- to 5-day Southern California getaway — not a drive-through on the way to San Diego.

Temecula Valley sits in southwest Riverside County, roughly 60 minutes from San Diego, Orange County, and Palm Springs, and about 90 minutes from Los Angeles. Ontario International Airport (ONT) is the closest major air hub. Put tickets, tasting reservations, and show nights on www.iex.directory before you roll.

Why stay and play in Menifee?
Younger, family-oriented, often ranked among the safer cities in Riverside County. Parks, a growing brewery/comedy scene, and freeway access that puts Wine Country next door. Use Menifee as home base when you want quieter lodging and a shorter last drive after a tasting day.

In Menifee: Gale Webb Extreme Sports Park · Remington Park and Park After Dark / Moonlight Markets · Motte Historical Museum (classic cars on Hwy 74) · Menifee History Museum · Grey Iron Brewing comedy and bands · Foodie Fridays at MSJC · Friday farmers market · Independence Celebration at Wheatfield Park (June 27, 2026) · Fall Festival and Haunt Your House.

Wine Country: Temecula Valley AVA (1984), ~45–50 tasting rooms. Pick one trail per day — Rancho California (Wilson Creek, South Coast, Ponte, Maurice Car’rie…), De Portola (Doffo, Danza del Sol, Fazeli…), or Calle Contento. Book Saturday. Shuttle if you are tasting, not sipping. Balloons at sunrise if you want the once-a-trip add-on.

Old Town Temecula: six walkable blocks, Saturday farmers market, 1909, Temecula Valley Museum, Pennypickle’s Workshop.

Pechanga: the third point on the same triangle — spa, dining, showroom. Check the I.E. calendar before you lock the room.

3–5 day loop: Menifee parks/museum/brewery → one wine trail → Old Town → Pechanga show → balloon or De Portola flex day.
